Upcoming Fall 2023 Workshops:

Motivational Interviewing Workshop

Monday, December 4, 2023 from 12 – 3 pm

This workshop provides an overview of Motivational Interviewing (MI), an evidence-based style of communication that evokes and strengthens a person’s intrinsic motivations. Participants will learn why MI is effective with young people who use substances and how they can begin to practice MI in their own work. This workshop will walk participants through the principles, underlying assumptions, and “Spirit” – or relationship – that is unique to MI. Emphasis will be placed on pairing these foundations with practical MI skills that build young peoples’ readiness for behavior change. This workshop will include small group practice, large group discussion, and case examples. Register online.

Space is limited. If the workshop is full, please email Kathy Mahoney at kmahoney@nsedu.org to be placed on the wait list.
