NEC Clinical Staff are available to provide in-district consultation when schools need assistance in developing a plan for a student with mental health or behavioral health challenges.

 

Overview

 

Consultation can include the following:

  1. Initial consultation with school staff to assess the need for immediate action.

  2. In-depth consultation which can include any of the following components:

    1. Record review

    2. Meeting with team members (administrators, teachers, counselors, etc.)

    3. Observation of student

    4. Clinical interview of student

    5. Clinical interview of parent(s)

  3. On-going consultation which may include any of the following:

    1. Informal training for team members around mental health or behavioral support topics.

    2. Assistance with accessing community-based services for student or family.

    3. Individual or small group supervision for staff working with student.
