What happens if a student relapses?
While there will be clear policies around relapse which will include possible expulsion, NSRHS understands and recognizes that relapse is often part of recovery and will handle such relapses on a case by case basis. Emphasis will be put on a student’s accountability for their own choices.
What is the FY ‘06 tuition for students?
Tuition for students in the Northshore Education Consortium’s member districts will be $10,500 and $12,500 for non-member districts. The tuition will be subsidized by a start up grant of $500,000 from the Department of Public Health and $250,000 per year for the next four years.
Who is responsible for tuition payment?
School districts will be responsible for all tuition payments. Parents may assist the school districts with tuition payments on a case by case basis.
How does a student apply?
A simple two page application must be completed for each student. In addition, a student’s education, DSS, DYS, medical and treatment records may be requested.
How was the name, Northshore Recovery High School chosen?
The development of recovery high schools is part of a national movement of schools which began in the Midwest and makes up an association of approximately 50 recovery high schools across the country. Most of these programs state that recognition of the mission of the school needs to be utmost in the minds of students thus the name Northshore RECOVERY High School.
