Colleen Dolan

Colleen Dolan began her work as the Executive Director for the Northshore Education
Consortium in July 2010. Colleen brings an extensive background in public education, teaching and instruction, and special education leadership to the Northshore Education Consortium.
Colleen recently served as the Director of Pupil Services for Reading Public Schools from 2007 until June 2010. During her first year as director, Colleen oversaw and helped facilitate a six year DESE Coordinated Program Review that specifically focused on Special Education, Civil Rights, and English Language Learners programs and policies. Her quick learning ability and organization helped her to receive positive praise from DESE as well as from her colleagues, parents, and the community. This job was not her first director position as Colleen worked as Lynnfield Public School's Director of Special Services from 2004 through 2007.
Colleen has been involved in special education since graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. She has worked for 24 years in the field, 17 years as a Special Education teacher and 8 years as an administrator. Further, Colleen has partnered with the Consortium over the past 6 years referring students and families to our programs and serving on the Special Education Directors board.
In the community, she served on the North Reading School Committee between 1989 and 1995 and volunteered for North Reading Dollars for Scholars, a non-profit group which provides financial assistance to North Reading residents pursuing education beyond high school. She also spearheaded the KidSpot Playground project in North Reading, organizing fundraising and building initiatives.
