ABOUT NEC
The Northshore Education Consortium (NEC) is an established educational collaborative serving 350 uniquely challenged students and providing specialized services to schools. Founded in 1974, NEC was one of the first regional educational collaboratives in Massachusetts following the adoption of Chapter 766.

The Northshore Education Consortium was established to bring together resources from member school districts to develop and deliver educational programs and services for students with learning, developmental and emotional-behavioral challenges. Today, the Consortium serves 350 students from
17 member districts and 25 other districts throughout Northeastern Massachusetts.
The Consortium staff is comprised of nearly 250 professionals, paraprofessionals and others, offering knowledge and expertise in a wide range of educational and therapeutic specialty areas. Staff members have experience and advanced training in speech and language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, psychology, home training, behavioral therapies, nursing and other medical areas.
